Families and Neighbors Support Island Rec (FANS) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization working to keep Island Rec thriving!

While a portion of the island's annual property taxes do fund San Juan Island Park and Recreation District, those
limited funds are used to maintain Island Rec's current level of service.

FANS was formed to raise funds from multiple sources to enable Island Rec to expand that level of service and
honor the positive impact the organization has on our community.

One of those sources includes you!  Our 2013 Annual FANS Club campaign is underway!  By joining our FANS Club, your tax-deductible donation helps:
   - Learn to Swim scholarships
   - After school programs
   - Park improvements
   - San Juan Island Trails
   - New events for all ages.  Look for the
     premiere of Movies-in-the-Park in 2013!

Island Rec has been an integral part of ourcommunity for almost 30 years.  We hope you'll show your support by
renewing or becoming a member of our FANS Club!
Last year was a resounding success by any measure.  Be sure to check out our Events page with links to our photo galleries.  Thanks to a host of volunteers and our active FANS Board, we were able to raise over $1,200 for Island Rec.

In 2013, we will build upon that success.  We'll be at many of Island Rec's annual events, such as the Children's Festival.  The FANS Family Carnival is being moved to the Fall to make room for a Spring donor boat ride for our most ardent FANS.  And, as you may have heard, we'll be fundraising muscle behind Island Rec's Movies in the Park in the late Summer.  Less conspicuous, but just as important, are FANS' plans to pursue grants from outside organizations that value building community as well as recreation themes for people of all ages.
